  Death of Mr. John Brydon There passel away on Monday, at his residence, 10th concession of North Dumfries, John Brydon, in his 66th year. Deceased had always enjoyed good health until a year ago, when he was taken ill. He had been suffering ever since from heart disease, from the effects of which he expired. The late Mr. Brydon. who was well-known through the township, was born in York Co., being of Scotch extraction. Here his boyhood days were spent, deceased coming of a large family of brothers and sisters, all of whom predeceased him, except one brother, Walter, who resides on East Main street, Galt. The subject of this sketch resided a couple of years in Galt, previous to removing to North Dumfries, where he resided on a small farm for some thirty years, up to the time of his demise. During his residence in Galt, Mr. Brydon was married to Miss Janet McNeil, of the 10th concession of North Dumfries, who, with a family cf eight children (nearly all of whom are grown up) survive him. One daughter, Ellen, now Mrs. Herbert Ray, lives on Samuelston street, Gait. In religion, deceased was a Presbyterian and in polities, a Liberal. He was a well-known horseman and took much delight in driving and training high-bred animals. Mr. Brydon's friends will learn of his death with regret. The funeral takes place this Thursday afternoon, at one o'clock, from the family residence, to Mt. View cemetery. The Weekly Reformer 9 Jan 1896 pg 11
