  Edward Bechtel GALT, Edward Bechtel, 15 Albert St., died today at his residence. He was 82. Born in New Hamburg, he had resided 50 years in Galt. He was a machinist with Joy Manufacturing Co. until retiring 12 years ago. He was a member of First United Church and of Waterloo Lodge 107, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Blanche Simon, in 1942. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Stephen (Laurine ) Hubbard, Mrs. R. R. (Mildred) Patterson, Mrs. Hazel Thomson, Louise Bechtel, Mrs. D. J. (Eileen) Johnson and Mrs. Charles (Jessie) Wagner, all of Galt; one son, Herbert of Prince George, B.C.., one sister, Mrs. Norman Dedels, Breslau; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body is at Little's Funeral Home, where funeral and committal services will be conducted Friday, at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Mount View cemetery.
