  	Merry Cake 2 eggs 1 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup butter 1 cup sweet whole milk 1/2 lb. dates 15 c. worth of shelled walnuts 15 c. worth of coconut 1 teaspoon of baking powder 1 teaspoon of baking soda 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 cups of flour Cream butter and sugar, then add beaten eggs. Sift flour, baking powder and baking soda. Add alternately with milk and beat well. Add dates, coconut and walnuts and vanilla.

  HOERLE, Edna - Passed away, on Sunday, August 13, 2006 at her residence People Care Centre, Tavistock. Edna was formerly of RR 2 Baden. She was born 99 years ago in North Easthope Township and was the daughter of the late Levi and Christina (Diehl) Cook. Edna was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Philipsburg. Beloved wife of the late Reinhart Hoerle who predeceased her September 9, 1986. Also remembered by her sisters-in-law, Verna Wegford and Minnie Hoffman, both of New Hamburg, Norma Cook of Milverton and several nieces and nephews. Edna was predeceased by her brothers, George, William, Cossie, Elton, Gordon and sisters, Bertha Faulhafer and Beatrice Schneider. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg today (Monday) from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Philipsburg with Pastor Richard Brown officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Canadian Cancer Society. The Record Newspaper 14 Aug 2006
