- MASON, Marjorie (Marj) Louise (nee Jacky) With great sadness we announce that our mother Marj, 93 years and full of life, born January 6, 1923, died Saturday, June 4, 2016 peacefully at her home in Kitchener, Ontario. Predeceased by Vern, her beloved husband and best friend for 67 years, Marjorie, was a kind and caring mother to Jack (Leona) of Milton, Pat (Joe) Lepold of Waterloo; grandma of Suzanne (Steve), David, Doug (Cheryl), Katie (James) and Scott (Brandy) and great-grandma to Lauren, Tyler, Ashlyn, Olivia, Ella, Gemma and Reese. Predeceased by parents William and Sarah Jacky, brothers Sonny and Lloyd and her sister Joyce. Marj is survived by her older sister Margaret Crowther, and sister-in-law Shirley. Marj, until a few weeks ago, was an avid 5 pin bowler for over 40 years at the Towne Bowl and then the Victoria Bowl and more recently a crafty Solo card player with the Happy Gang Solo Club at the Forest Heights Community Centre. Our sincere thanks to all the home care staff from CCAC and Bayshore Home Health for making her last days as comfortable as was possible. Relatives and friends may call at the Westmount Memorial Centre , 1001 Ottawa Street South, Kitchener on Tuesday, June 7th from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the same location on Wednesday, June 8th at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Marj will be remembered as a considerate, thoughtful, kind, caring, person. She was cherished by her family and is sorely missed. If desired, memorial her re donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
