- Robert Edwards was born in Toronto, was converted by the Primitive Methodists as a young man living in Toronto Twp., and settled c. 1846 in Chinquacousy, where he worked as a blacksmith. In 1855, he settled on a farm in Wellesley, where he joined the Wesleyan Methodist Church. he died in the same twp., Nov. 1 1863, and was buried in Hawkesville Cemetery: survived by his wife and 6 children.
