- BECHTEL, Eden S. -- At his residence, Fairview Mennonite Home, Cambridge, on Sunday, Dec. 26, 1982, formerly of 91 Brandon Ave., Kitchener, age 95 years. Born in Wilmot township, he farmed for many years in Mannheim, a member of Mannheim Mennonite Church. Son of the late Noah C. and Mary Ann Bechtel. Predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Etta Rudy in 1962. Father of Elmer of Goshen, Ind., Clayton of RR 1, St. Agatha, Willard, Mable (Mrs. Abram Brubacher, Verna and Beatrice (Mrs. Clayton Meirowski) all of Kitchener, Mrs. Bernice Moncur and Florence (Mrs. Donald Moncur), both of Waterloo and Vera (Mrs. Hubert Mellow) of Ottawa; brother of Mrs. Edna Lugibihi of Pandoa, Ohio and Mrs. Nettie Snyder of Milverton; grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by two children in infancy; three brothers and four sisters. Mr. Bechtel's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, this evening. Committal services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at First Mennonite cemetery Kitchener. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at Mannheim Mennonite Church, Rev. Jim Reusser officiating.
