  James Alexander Murray Well-Known Ayr Painter Passes, Aged 77 Years The death occurred in Ayr on Friday of James Alexander Murray, aged 77 years, after an illness which extended over a period of ten weeks. Mr. Murray was born at Newmarket and followed the trade of painting and graining for a period of 50 years or more. About 15 years ago, the family removed to Perry's Corners, coming to Ayr 10 years ago. He was married 36 years ago to Sarah Jane Buckle of Aurora, who survives him along with one son, Cecil, and one daughter, Mrs. Thos. Steele of Ingersoll. There was a large attendance at the funeral which took place to the Ayr Cemetery on Monday afternoon. Rev. J. W. Currie had charge of the services, and the pallbearers were: John Bell, Thomas Hope, William Plumstead, George Easton, Walter Bell and John Hodgson. The Ayr News Dec 24 1936 pg 3
