- REV. A. P. QUENTIN HOME FROM CHINA
Rev. A. P. Quentin and Mrs. Quentin of the West China Mission of the United Chuurch of Canada, were visitors in Kitchener over the weekend, being guests of Miss Edna Breithaupt. He has been engaged In mission work in China for thirty years, his field being 2,000 miles from the coast. He spoke at both services in Trinity United Church on Sunday.
Dr. Quentin, in the recent siege of one of the cities in China, gained the confidence of the leaders of the opposing armies, and was chosen as the medium of approach. Through his influence suitable terms were concluded with the besieging army. As a result he was given the freedom of the city on the day of his departure on his present furlough, a civic holiday was declared and the whole city turned out to see them off.
