- Thomas Dud[l]ow, was born in Manchester, England, in 1782, and raised Episcopalian. At age 15, he entered the British Army, and served as an artilleryman during the Peninsular War. not long after entering the army, he joined the W. M. Church, At age 33, he was appointed a local preacher. in 1847, he came to Canada, after which he spent 11 years in Montreal. He came "to this part" 7 years ago, and joined the P. M. Church 2 years ago. In Aug. 1866, he took ill with softening of the spine, and died, Feb. 14, 1867, at Hawksville Station.
