- Death of Rev. Dr. R. Burns
Rev. Dr. Robert Burns, an outstanding minister of the Methodist church in Canada, died last evening at his home, 66 Millwood road, in his 77th year, following an illness of a year. For the past eleven years he was living retired, his last charge having been at Deseronto. Following his graduation from Victoria College, he had charges at Hamilton, Niagara Falls, Ingersoll, Oshawa, Harrison, Tweed. Ridgeway, Washington, Waterdown, Cayuga and Deseronto. He was a member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows and of the Masonic Order. Surviving him are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. (Dr.) McKinley of Bronte, and Mrs. T. H. Kirby, Toronto. Dr. Burns of Saskatchewan, his only son, died a year ago.
