NUPTIAL EVENT - Berry - Raines
A quiet but pretty May wedding took place at St. John's Anglican Church at 2 o'clock May 23, when Miss Lucy Raines, eldest daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Raines, Charon Street, became the bride of Mr. Albert Berry, also of this city. The bride, who was given away by Mr. Ted Berwick, was beautifully gowned in white canton crepe with bridal veil and orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouguet of roses. She was attended by her sister, Miss A. Raines, who was prettily attired in pink crepe with a becoming picture hat, and carried pink carnations. Mr. Fred Berry acted as groomsman and little Josephine Raines, sister of the bride, made a pretty flower girl in a dainty frock of yellow silk mull and carrying a basket of sweet peas and lilies of the valley. Rev. H.M. Langford officiated. After the ceremony the bridegroom presented the bride with a handsome check, the bridesmaid with a pearl broach, the flower girl with a locket and chain and the best man with gold cuff links. A dainty wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents after which Mr. & Mrs. Berry left on a wedding trip to points east. Among the guests present at this pleasant event were noticed Miss Phyliss Winter of Toronto. The young couple were the recipients of numerous gifts which showed the high esteem in which they are held in the Twin City..
