- HOFSTETTER, Jack-Peacefully, on Monday, August 11, 1997, at St. Mary's General Hospital, in Kitchener, John Louis Hofstetter, of 95 Queen St. E., Wellesley.
Born in Kitchener 74 years ago, son of the late Louis Hofstetter and the late Della Mae Ellis. Jack was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wellesley, where he was Sunday School Superintendent for many years. Jack was a past president of the Lutheran Laymens League, as well as the Wellesley and District Board of Trade. He was employed for 38 years at Ornamental Mouldings Ltd. of Waterloo. Mr. Hofstetter was a veteran of the Second World War.
Beloved husband of Irene E. (Wagner) Hofstetter of Wellesley; loving father of Lorrie and her husband Paul Detzler of Wellesley, Tim and his wife Sherry Hofstetter of Waterloo; lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law, Hilda Wagner of Wellesley and by his six grandchildren, James, Sarah, Emily and Mark Detzler, Rachel and T.J. (Timothy John) Hofstetter; loving brother of June and her husband Wally Widmeyer of Waterloo.
Visitation at the Futher Bros Funeral Home, 40 Henry St. W., in Wellesley, where family and friends will be received today (Tuesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At 11 a.m. Wednesday removal will be made to First St. Paul's Lutheran Church for the funeral service at 3 p.m. Pastor George Reinhart will officiate. Burial to follow in First St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Wellesley.
