- Albert Berry of 30 Schnieder Avenue died Wednesday 12 February 1969 at Coutts Pavillion, Freeport Sanitarium following a lengthy illness. He was 77. Born 26 September 1891 in Suffolk, England, he came to Canada fifty years ago. He was a cutter for Savage Shoes Limited, Preston until retiring 7 years ago.
An Anglican, Mr. Berry was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kitchener Branch 50. and a life member of the Army, Navy, and Air Force Veterans He was a veteran of both World Wars, serving overseas with the First Battalion, Canadian Machine Gun Corps during the first World War, and with the Veterans Guard of Canada during the second World War.
Mr. Berry is survived by his wife, the former Lucy Raines, two sons, Kenneth and Robert Berry of Kitchener; three daughters, Mrs. Victor Cass (Doris) of Hamilton, Mrs. Alfred Logel (Audrey) of Galt, and Mrs. Sylvester O"Hara (Gladys) of Cooksville, 10 Grandchildren and one Great Grandchild. The body is at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 3: 30 P.M. Friday with Rev. Roy Webb officiating. Burial in Veteran's Plot Woodland Cemetery.
