A private funeral service was conducted at the Stager-Pass Ltd., funeral home on Saturday afternoon by Rev. H. G. Cleghorn of Knox Presbyterian church, Preston, for Mary Annie Kummer, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kummer, who died in London on Thursday in her 89th year. Interment was in the family plot at Woodlawn cemetery, Guelph. The pall-bearers were Edward Kummer, Galt, O. Kummar„ Peter Pawell, and George Murray of Preston, Stewart Lockie of Milton and Roy Jaffary, Guelph. 1 June 1953

PRESTON - Mary Annie Kummer, known to many in Preston and district, died at London yesterday. In her 89th year she had been ill for two years.
A native of Doon Miss Kummer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kummer, lived there during her youth and attended school at Blair. She lived in Toronto the greater part of her life.
A companion nurse for private families. she was well-travelled. She was an Anglican.
During latter years she took keen interest in the work of the Red Cross in Toronto.
Surviving are three brothers, Harry and Oliver A. Kummer of Preston, Jake Kummer in Washington State; two sisters, Mrs. William Buchanan of Preston and Mrs. Lou Wasman of Great Falls, Montana.
The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Ltd., funeral home where private service will be held on Saturday at 3:30. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph.
