  BENDER, Elon - On Monday, July 30, 1990, at his home, Hillview Crescent, New Hamburg. He was a son of the late Mose Bender and the former Catherine Roth. He was in his 85th year. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hamburg and a member of the Restless Seniors, New Hamburg. He had been employed at Canada Sandpaper in Plattsville prior to retirement. Lovingly remembered by one daughter, Anne and her husband Don Hauss of New Hamburg; four grandchildren, Debbi (Mrs. Steve Becker), Lisa, Jeff and Bonnie. Sadly missed by three brothers, Arthur and his wife Dorothy, Alvin and his wife Ruby, all of New Hamburg, Nelson of Goderich; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Zehr of Tavistock, Katie and her husband Vernon Zehr and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Marion Bender, all of New Hamburg. Also survived by his former wife, Marie Lehmann of Kitchener. Elon was predeceased by one daughter, Mrs. Linda Brown in 1974; one brother, Wilmer, one brother-in-law, Mahlon Zehr and one sister, Elmina, in infancy. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, after 7 p.m. tonight (Tuesday) and until Thursday, Aug. 2, 1990, at noon, when transfer will be made to Trinity Lutheran Church for the service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Christine Selbstaedt officiating.
