    • Petoskey News Review - July 16, 1961

      William Kabelman Rites Wednesday - Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Briggs Funeral Home for William Kabelman, 88, of Petoskey who died Sunday at Lockwood General Hospital. Rev. Raymond Essig will officiate and interment will be in the Ayr Cemetery. He was born at Waterloo, Ontario, Canada on July 24, 1873 and came to the United States in 1880 with his family, who settled in Pleasantview Township. He farmed most of his life, and also worked in logging camps. On April 27, 1901 he was married to Martha Bathke in rites at Brutus. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, William, Jr., of Muskegon, Otto of Chicago and Louis of Petoskey; a daughter, Mrs. William (Lena) Schmidt of Alanson; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Carl of Petoskey; two sisters, Mrs. Sophie Rosemeier of Harbor Springs and Mrs. Louise Juengemeyer of Reed City. The body is at the Briggs Funeral Home, where friends may call. He was the son of Charles(Carl)Ludwick and Fredericka Sophia (Haink)Kabelman .
