- Sim, Edward "Ted" - At A.R. Goudie Eventide Home, Kitchener, on Monday, November 10, 2003, Ted died after a long and fulfilling life. He was 89. Beloved husband of the late Martha (Schmidt), who predeceased him September 7, 1994. Loved father of Marilyn and her husband Bob Bennett and Margaret and her husband Phil Little of Waterloo. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Michael, David and Liz, Christine and Terry, Scott and Cynthia and Andrew and Jacky; Papa Ted to his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Andrew, Tiana, Carly and Jonathan. Brother of Doug and his wife Elsie of Cobble Hill, B.C., Jock and his wife Dorothy of London and George of Waterloo. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Winnifred Sim of Largo, Fla., Elsie Hertzberger of Waterloo and Milt Schmidt of Boston. He was predeceased by his parents, Helen Wilson and Robert Sim; brothers, Robert and Jim and sister-in-law, Idella Sim. Ted was a member of Calvary Memorial United Church in Kitchener and was retired as grounds superintendent from the former Mutual Life Assurance Company where he worked for 42 years. Friends are invited to share their memories of Ted with his family at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday, November 14, 2003, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. A service to celebrate Ted's life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday, November 14, 2003 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. In Ted's memory, donations to The Salvation Army or Calvary Memorial United Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and can be arranged through the funeral home, 745-8445 or www.edwardrgood.com. Following the committal service at the cemetery, friends and relatives are invited to the Reception Room of the funeral home for refreshments and a time to visit with the family.
