  Mrs. John W. Rogers Formerly of Ayr, passed away at Wingham and District Hospital on Thursay, November 10th. She was in her 90th year. The former Gladys Powney, she resided in Ayr for many years and was manager of Ayr's Bell telephone office until the village received dial phones in 1960. Beloved wife of the late John W. Rogers dear sister of Ruth (Mrs. Vern Ventham) of Southhampton, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one sister Merle Henry of Blyth, in 1986. Rested at Barthel Stager Funeral Home, Preston, where funeral service was held Saturday. Interment in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Cambridge. Ayr News 16 Nov 1988 pg 15
