  Jacob Yost, "was born October 19th, 1833. He is married to Margaret Reichert and resides at Elmira, Ontario, where he is engaged in farming. To them were born six children". Eby, Ezra E. (1895). Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.]. ___________________________ Old Resident Gone There passed away, unnoticed by his attendants, early Monday morning, another of the old residents of Elmira in the person of Jacob Yost. Deceased was born near Conestogo on the 19th of October, 1833. On the 17th of December, 1853, he was married to Margaret Reichert. They lived for a time on his father's farm near St. Jacobs, then at Mannheim, whence they came to Elmira occupying for many years the farm now owned by Mr. Joseph Ernst. Advancing age compelled him to sell the farm and live retired. Since his wife died several years ago, he has been living with his daughter, Mrs. P. F. Stumpf. To Mr. and Mrs. Yost were born 6 children, 2 sons and 4 daughters. Of these one died in infancy and three after they had grown up. The two surviving ones are Mrs. Peter Stumpf and Mr. Levi Yost, of Kitchener. Besides these, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren survive. Mr. Yost was of a very quiet, retiring disposition, and enjoyed the respect of his neighbors and friends. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. G. F. Brown, of the Evangelical Church and Rev. M. L. Wing oofficiated. Elmira Signet 5 Apr 1917
