• Notes

  Martin Sr. started the Murawsky Furniture business in Kitchener Ontario. After he came from Prussia as a boy and learned his trade at Wunder Furniture in Kitchener. Martin left Wunder's and started his own furniture business in the early 20's in a garage on Victoria Street. After a number of successful years he moved into a 3 storey 90,000 sq. ft. building on Shanley Street and later right after the Second World War added a fourth floor to the building. Martin had five sons, Mike, Martin, Daniel, Jerome and Clarence. The Company produced dining room and bedroom suites, tables, chairs, ocassional chairs, and china cabinets. A lot of their product went to Eaton's stores . At one time there were over 120 people employed at the factory.
