    • Obituary of Guenter Goman

      After a long and wonderful life, G. John Goman passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home at the Westmount Long Term Care Facility in Kitchener on March 12, 2015 at the age of 98 years.

      Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Goman (nee Trump. Cherished father of Susan Cooper (Timothy) of Kitchener and Beth Ecclestone (John) of Waterloo. Devoted grandfather of Gregory Hagar (Karrie), Sarah Hagar (Chris Sylvester), Adam Cooper, Erin Cooper and Wendy Ecclestone (Francois Bilodeau). Most special G.G. of Stella, Silas, Iris, Julien, Solomon, Bryson &Pierce. Loving adopted Dad of Bonnie O'Connell (Charlie). Special friend of his care giver Tiffani Ertel. John is survived by his sister in law Bette Goman and many nieces & nephews. John was the last of four children of the late Emil & Emmy Gomann.

      John was a Flying Officer who served with the R.A.F overseas during World War II. After the war, John's career was spent in education but the focus of his life was the love of his family, his tennis & his intense involvement in community and church activities. He will be remembered by family and friends as a man of great integrity and honour, coupled with a wonderful sense of humour and a loving heart.

      Friends are invited to share their memories of John with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A complete funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Reception to follow immediately in the Fireside Room of the funeral home. Cremation to follow with a private family interment at a later date.
