Notes |
- NEVILLE, Dennis Fraser - Dennis was born in Talara, Peru on March 11, 1937, and passed away at the K-W Health Centre of the Grand River Hospital, on Monday, January 12, 2009. Beloved husband for almost 50 years to Sharon (nee Naylor). Loving father of Ian, Susan, and Alexandra (Xandi) Neville. "Papa D" will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Renée, Colleen and Neville Madill. He will be missed by his brothers, Duncan and David; nieces, Michelle and Emily and nephew, Neville. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Dennis and Estela Neville; his sister, Margaret; and his nieces, Amanda and Kristen. Dennis moved from Peru to join the Venture Program (Canadian Naval Officer Training) in Esquimalt, B.C. He would later attend the University of British Columbia where he met his wife Sharon. A commerce student and a member of the International Club at UBC, he formed friendships that would last his lifetime. After graduating, he began his career with Allstate in Vancouver. Transferred by Allstate, he would move his family east to Toronto. Dennis moved within the insurance industry working for CGI and INA, before leaving the industry to become the Administrator for the Toronto Montessori Schools. His next adventure would see Dennis relocate out of the busy city to the small town of Drumbo, Ontario, where he purchased a hardware store with his wife, Sharon and his son, Ian. Finally ready to retire, he would make one more move, to Kitchener. Retired from business, Dennis never retired from his role as host. Always generous, curious and truly interested in people, he travelled, spent time surrounded by amazing friends and a devoted family. He will be truly missed. The Neville family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Friday, January 16, 2009 from 12 noon until the time of Dennis' memorial service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Liver Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Visit www.henrywalser.com for Dennis' memorial.
