  A.J. McDougall Receives Notice of Coming Transfer Indianapolis is to lose one of its most popular railroad men \endash A.J. McDougal, district passenger agent for the Illinois Central, who has been here since March, 1911. Mr. McDougall has received notice of his transfer to St. Paul, Minn., the change to become effective March 1, next. Prior to coming to Indianapolis Mr. McDougall was located in New Orleans, where he represented the Illinois Central. Mr. McDougall's railway service dates back nearly a quarter of a century, almost all in the service of the Illinois Central. As a very young man he started with the Grand Trunk in Berlin, Canada, holding the position of ticket agent. He entered the employee of the IC as traveling passenger agent at Berlin, March 15, 1890, and he showed such aptness that less than a year later he was promoted to the position of Eastern passenger agent of the same line at New York. Six years later he earned another big promotion in the fall of 1897, being appointed assistant general eastern agent in charge of both freight and passenger business. He was appointed general Eastern passenger agent July 1, 1900, having charge of all passenger business in New York City, and was in the position until Jan. 1, 1903, when he was assigned to New Orleans as division passenger agent. He remained there until 1911, when he was transferred to Indianapolis. Mr. McDougall has no information at this time as to who his successor will be here. Indianapolis Star - 9 Feb 1914
