  Peacefully, as the result of a stroke, at the Grand River Hospital, on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Donald Kehn (1987). Dear mother of Tom (Pat), Donna Reist (Ron), Joanne Hearth (John), Al (Tammy), Cheryl Soltysiak (Joe Bruder) and Carolyn Beaton (Gord). Predeceased by a son, Raymond, in infancy. Loved by seventeen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Wilbert Sommers and Peggy Elmore. Predeceased by her sister, Joan Kropf and her brother, Jim Sommers. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Ethel was a charter member of St. Agnes RC Parish and a faithful member of the choir. She was involved with the CWL for over 60 years and actively involved in many parish life activities. Graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing and worked at St. Mary's Hospital as a Registered Nurse for many years. Ethel's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday at 3: 45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Agnes RC Church, 75 Bluevale Street, North, Waterloo on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery. Reception to follow in St. Agnes Parish Hall. Special thanks to Dr. John Campbell and staff of the Grand River Hospital - Fifth Floor Stroke Unit for their compassion and understanding. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, the St. Agnes Parish Maintenance Fund or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated (cards available at the funeral home).
