  BRIERLEY, Mrs. Alice Of 716 Hespeler St., Cambridge (Preston), on Friday, April 13, 1973, at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, in her 84th year; born in Rochdale, England, came to Preston 50 years ago; member of King Street Baptist Church. charter member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Preston Royal Canadian Legion; first president of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Preston Royal Canadian Legion. The former Alice Tweedale, she was predeceased by her husband Samuel Brierley; survived by one son, Samuel of Preston; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth (Nellie) Johnson of Preston; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; also survived by three sisters and one brother, in England. Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, Cambridge (Preston), from Saturday afternoon, until Monday, for funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment in Preston cemetery.
