    • SHANTZ, Lydia - Passed away peacefully at K-W Health Centre, Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Saturday, July 14, 2007. She was born 90 years ago, a daughter of the late Simon and Catherine Zehr. Lydia was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion, New Hamburg, as well as Restless Seniors. Beloved wife of the late Walter Shantz. Devoted mother of Patricia of Elmira, and David of Baden. Dear sister-in-law of Ilene Burkhardt of Kitchener, Helen Zehr of Tavistock and Stanley and Eral Shantz of Cambridge. Also missed by several nieces and nephews. Lydia was predeceased by four brothers, five sisters, and brother-in-law, Lorne Shantz. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 from the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Shantz Mennonite Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Grand River Hospital (Freeport), Community Care Access, or the charity of your choice.
