      PRESTON-Mrs. Melissa Buchanan, 92, of 324 Lowther St. South, Preston, widow of William T. Buchanan, died today at Coutts Pavilion, Freeport.

      Mrs. Buchanan was the former Melissa Kummer and was born in Doon. She lived in Preston and district all her life, and was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church here.

      She was predeceased by her husband in 1941. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Howard (Winnifred) Galbraith of Detroit and Mrs. Peter (Edith) Powell of Preston; three brothers, Oliver of Preston, Oscar of New Westminster, B.C. and Jacob of Longview, Wash. and one sister, Mrs. Lou (Rose) Wasman of Great Falls, Mont.

      The body is at the Stager-Barthel Funeral Home where the funeral will be conducted Saturday at 3. p.m. Interment will be in Preston Cemetery. Rev: Dr. Finlay G. of Kitchener will officiate.
