  Mrs. Israel Martin A deep gloom has been cast over this community by the sudden death of Mrs. Israel Martin, (nee Hilda Richmond), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Richmond, which occurred at Washington, Ont. The funeral took place on April 1st from her late residence in Elmira, to the United Church, and was largely attended, testifying to the high esteem in which she was heldly all who knew her. On April 2nd the remains were brought to Ayr and interred in the Ayr cemetery. A large concourse of friends from Ayr and surrounding community attended the funeral. A short service was conducted at the graveside by Rev. R. E. Rallton of Millgrove, a former pastor of the deceased. In a few well chosen words, fitting tribute was paid to the exceptionally fine service she rendered in home, community and church. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church at Washington and was a faithful and zealous worker in the Sunday School and Young Women's work of the church. Although taken in life's prime, she has made a worthy contribution to the social and religious life of the community In which she lived, and leaves the imprint of a virtuous life upon her Waterloo Chronicle, 15 Apr 1926, p. 4
