  MRS. MARY SCHANTZ One of Kitchener's few nonagenarians, Mrs. Mary Schantz, 43 Schneider Avenue, passed away at 11 o'clock last night at her late residence where she had resided since 1890, the result of a slight stroke suffered a week ago. Mrs. Schantz in her 95th year was born in Haldimand County, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abram H. Moyer. In 1863 she was married at Port Elgin to the late Tobias Schantz, who predeceased her ten years ago. She was a public school teacher before her marriage. Deceased was a faithful member and regular attendant as long as health would permit of Alma Street United Brethren Church and also the Ladies Aid and Women's Missionary Society. Four sons, Orpheus M. Schantz at Chicago, Ill., Austin T. Schantz, Denver, Col., Frank A. Schantz, city, Arthur B. Schantz of Big Prairie, Alta., and two daughters, Miss Sophie E. Schantz and Miss Florence A. C. Schantz, both of this city, survive with three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral will take place Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Ratz Bechtel Funeral Home, followed by interment in Mount Hope Cemetery. Rev. Elmer Becker will officiate.
