      ______________

      WOMAN KILLED IN MOTOR COLLISION

A fatal accident occurred last Thursday evening when two cars crashed head on about 6.20 o'clock on the county road two miles north of Shakespeare. Mrs. Hannah Junker, 81, of Nithburg, was almost instantly killed.

Mrs. Junker was a passenger in a car driven by her brother, Henry Fleischauer, of Nithburg, which was travelling north when it crashed headon into one driven south by Adam Leinweber, of South Easthope.

Both Fleischauer and Leinweber were injured in the crash but not seriously. Mrs. Junker suffered a fractured skull and her chest was crushed in.

The deceased woman and her brother had been to Stratford visiting for the day and were on their way home to Nithburg when the accident occurred.

Both cars were badly wrecked although they were not travelling at a high rate of speed at the time.

The late Mrs. Junker was a pioneer resident of the Nithburg district, but resided in New Hamburg for a short time. Her husband, John Junker, and one son, William, predeceased her. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon from her late home to Alles Lutheran Church, North Easthope, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
