    • William Thomas Gowdy, 87, of Shepard, died Wednesday morning in the General hospital.

      Mr. Gowdy was born in Guelph, Ont., and moved to Moose Jaw to homestead in 1891. He went to Indian Head, Sask., two years later, and in 1897 moved to the Airdrie and Langdon district. He went to Shepard in 1911 and had lived there since.

      His wife, Priscilla Jane, died at Shepard in June, 1940. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J.E. Steel, Shepard, and Mrs. A.K. Bricker, Chestermere Lake; two sons, William C. and David T., both of Shepard; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Huffman, Hamilton, Ont. and Mrs. John Taylor, Richwood, Ont.

      Rev. Dr. J. Gordon Jones will conduct services Saturday at 2: 45 p.m. in Jacques funeral home. Burial will be in Union cemetery.

      William Thomas, engaged in grain growing at Sheppard, Alta. He married Priscilla Morley of Rockwood, Ontario, and had three sons and two daughters.
