- Former Resident Dies Thursday
Mrs. Mary E. Krieger, 87, former Petoskey resident, died Thursday at the home of her son, H. Otto Krieger of Grand Blanc. Services will be held in Grand Blane on Saturday. The body will arrive here Saturday afternoon and services conducted by the Rev. Ross Stoakes will be held from the Stone Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery.
She was born Nov. 11, 1862, in Hamilton county, Ontario, Can., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theopold Heitz. She and her husband Aaron B. Krieger, who preceded her in death some years ago, resided in Petoskey where Mr. Krieger was in business. Mrs. Krieger was the first person to be in charge of the community rooms after they were organized.
She was a member of the Emmet Rebekah Lodge and the Petoskey Methodist church.
Surviving besides her son, H. Otto, are two brothers, George Heintz of Caledonia, Mich., Wesley W. Heintz of Petoskey, and one sister, Mrs. Frank Winans, of Petskey.
