___________
BRESLAU HAS ITS HEART APPEAL FOR ONE OF HER ABSENT SONS
Noah M. Moyer of Philadelphia, formerly of Breslau, and well known in Kitchener, in a letter writing contest conducted by the Philadelphia Daily News recently captured first prize with a brief letter relative to his "home town." The letter is as follows: Editor Daily News:
If you haven't a real love for the old home town, cultivate one. I am now around the half-century mark and there is no place that I would rather go than my little Canadian village of 150 inhabitants.
For some years I have made my annual visits there. I have walked down the streets of most of our large cities but there is no street that gives me such a thrill as the one and only street in that old home town.
Let me take you to the old mill with its old-fashioned water wheel, then to the old general store, where we used to spend our
coppers, and next up the hill to the old school house with the same old bell ringing as it always did.
Those are all sacred spots to me, but the best of all is the old home with mother in the doorway.
