- Abraham Moyer, "was born November 9th, 1853. On August 8th, 1878, he was married to Mary Ann, daughter of Adam and Doratha (Herman) Daum. She was born June 13th, 1858. In 1877 Mr. Moyer left Breslau and went to Listowel, Ontario, where he and John W. Meyer went into partnership and purchased the Maitland Valley Roller Flour Mills. In 1889 they leased the Victoria Flour Mills (Since then they have purchased the mills) in Palmerston, to which place Mr. Moyer then moved where he is doing a well paying business. His family consists of six children".

Abraham Meyer
Death came with startling suddenness to Abraham Moyer at his residence, 117 David street yesterday owing to heart failure. He had been In good health up to yesterday when be was seized with heart attack after returning from a walk up town Death came less than an hour after be had been talking with his son and before the latter could be called home.
The deceased was the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Moyer, Sr., and was born November 9, 1853 on the old Moyer homestead near the present Kitchener Junction. On Aug. 8, 1878 he was married to May Ann Daum daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs Adam Daum. As a young man the late Mr. Moyer learned the flour milling trade at the old Breslau mill, then operated by his brother. the late Moses Moyer. In 1877 he left Breslau, going to Listowel where he formed a partnership with John W. Meyer and purchased the Maitland Valley Roller Flour Mills. They conducted this business until 188[] when the deceased purchased Victoria Flour Mills in Palmerston. Some years later he erected the Mount Forest Carriage Works. resided in Mount Forest only two years and then moved to Holstein where he cleared a 100 acre bush farm. He lived there only two years then coming to Kitchener in 1907. He was the district agent for the Massey-Harris Co. for 12 years, retiring from this business in 1921. Since then he has lived a more or less retired life, altho he was ways active. In 1922 and 1923 he was a foreman on pavement and sidewalk construction work in Kitchener.
The late Mr. Moyer was widely known by reason of his varied business experience. Consequently he had many friends, gained thru his cheery, jovial disposition and kindness. His wide circle of relatives and friends will be greatly grieved to learn of his sudden passing. He was a faithful member of Trinity United Church.
His sudden departure is mourned by his sorrowing widow and three sons and three daughters. They are Mrs. T. M. Stephens, Hamilton, Mrs E. Bartlett, Hamilton. Mrs. W. Musselman, Montreal, Clinton Camrose Alta., Byron Detroit, Mich., and Stanley of this city. Two sisters. Mrs. Hettie Eby, Rochester, N. Y. formerly of Kitchener. Mrs. Sarah Moyer, Elmira, formerly of Breslau. Ont., and one brother, Samuel Anderson, Ind., formerly of Kitchener also survive.
The funeral will be held on Thursday afternon from his late residence 117 David street, at 2 o'clock. Trinity United church for service Interment will be made in the East End Mennonite cemetery.
