- Mrs. Louisa Gix Dies Yesterday. Had lived in Petoskey during past 50 years. Mrs. Louisa Gix, widow of the late Otto Gix, and a pioneer resident of Petoskey, passed away Tuesday at her home at 209 Howard Street. She was 76 years of age, and had been ill for the past nine months. Mrs. Gix was an active member of Beulah Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Past Matron's Club of that chapter. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Gix was for many years actively associated with social , lodge and church affairs of the city and community, and enjoyed a wide acquaintance. Born at Neustadt, Ontario, March 10, 1860, Mrs. Gix grew to womanhood there, and was married there to Otto Gix, who passed away here in 1918. They came from Ontario to Petosky 50 years ago. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. A. D. Hinkle, of Petoskey, and one son Ralph Gix, of Pontiac. Another son, Dr. Gordon R. Gix passed away in 1915. Funeral services, conducted by the Beulah Chapter O. E. S., will be held at the home Thursday. Rev. Ralph Young of Harbor Springs Presbyterian Church, will be the minister. Members of the Past Matron's Club will serve as escort. Burial will be in Greenwood.
