      SUDDEN DEATH.

W.M. Sterling, V.S. of New Hamburg, Passes Over to Join the Silent Majority.

The death of W. M. Sterling, of New Hamburg, on Friday came as a shock to his many friends throughout. the country. He had been enjoying fairly good health, rheumatism being his only trouble. On Friday evening be went to bed as usual, but during the night be aroused one of the household by tapping on the wall of his bedroom and when seen complained of feeling very sick in his stomach. Medical aid was summoned and when the doctor left the patient had apparently been much relieved. When one of the household went to wait on him two bours later however, the spark of life had fled. The immediate cause of death was heart failure.

Mr. Sterling was a respected citizen of New Hamburg for over 22 years and practised in that village as a veterinary surgeon up to two years ago. Those who survive him are a wife and ten children as follows: Samuel, Fred and Albert E., of Toronto; Charles, George and Tom, at home, the latter practising as a veterinary, and W. J. Sterling who is practising as a veterinary at Waterloo. The daughters are Mrs. Harry Ernst and Mrs. John R. Feick, of New Hamburg and Miss Kate Sterling, who lives at home.

The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon last and was very largely attended. Services were conducted in the English church by the rector, Mr. Ward, after which the remains were interred in the Hamburg burying ground.
