  Jonas Moyer, "son of Abraham F. and Elizabeth (Schwartz) Moyer, was born in Lincoln County, Ontario, October 17th, 1826. On October 5th, 1856, he was married to Esther, daughter of Samuel S. and Elizabeth (Wismer) Moyer. She was born in Lincoln County, Ontario, March 16th, 1833 and died near Freeport, Waterloo County, Ontario, September 1st, 1881. After Mr. Moyer's marriage he resided on his father's old homestead where he was engaged in farming. Some twenty years ago he moved to Waterloo County where he has since resided. At present he has his home with Mr. John Erb near Berlin. To him and his wife were born eight children" Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character.
