  Mr. Hartman Spahr Passes Another of the older residents of New Hamburg has passed away in the person of Hartman Spahr, who died at his home here on Monday evening June 3rd, at the age of 80 years and 4 days after a week's illness. The deceased was a lifelong resident of this community. He was born on the homestead on the Gravel Road and for many years resided in town. For a few years he was the proprietor of the Commercial Hotel and was well known to the travelling public. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and was highly esteemed by a wide circle of friends. The late Mr. Spahr was married to Sussanah Doerr, of North Easthope, who besides two sons and two daughters mourn his demise. The children are Clayton of Wellesley, Mrs. E. M. Griffith, of Galt, Burnell, of New Hamburg, and Miss Bernice, of Kitchener. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon from his late home to St. Peter's Lutheran Church where the service was conducted by Rev. Mr. Erdman, followed by interment in Riverside Cemetery.
