- POORE, Dorothy Jean (nee Schmiedendorf) - After a lengthy illness at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at the age of 65 years. Beloved wife of George Poore. Cherished mother of Myrtle Arruda (Ernie), Leah Jakobsen (Soren), Harold Poore, Georgina Broeckel (Herb MacDonald), Kevin Poore (Lynn), Thomas Poore (Jane), Faith Dean (John), Deborah Poore-Norn (Clint), step-children, Martha Beauchamp (Mike), the late John Poore (Margaret), Kenneth Poore (Francis), and Carol Goodland (Dave). Dorothy is survived by 26 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters George, Grace, Robert and Evelyn. Predeceased by brothers David and Earl and grandson, Richard. She will be fondly remembered by lifelong friends Barbara Broadhaecker and Rita Morin. At Dorothy's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will take place at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, on Friday, September 1, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Private family service will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Brain Injury Association of Waterloo Wellington may be made by calling the funeral home at 519-653-3251.
