Beloved wife of Norman Knapp; much loved mother of Kenneth and his wife Darlene, Robert (Bob) and his wife Leora, Bill and his wife Nancy; loving grandmother of Stacey and her husband Corey McLeod, Melissa Knapp, Tricia and her husband, John Soers and Bryan Knapp and Crystal Craig; dear sister of Ruth Hamlin (Joseph 1969), Nora Schallhorn (Carl 1982), Norma Flannery (George 1973), Grace and Ed Brundage, Jean and Allan Brundage, Margaret Gibson and Isabel Eagle (Roy 1991), Roy Spies (Betty 1999) and Howard and Laura Spies. Also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Knapp was born in Woolwich township, January 29, 1918, a daughter of the late Samuel C. Spies (1951) and his wife Jennie Lorena Hill (1956), also predeceased by sister, Lorena (1918) and brother, Jack Spies (1988) and his wife Bessie (2000).
Helen was a member of Trinity United Church, Listowel, Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star No. 69 and along with her husband Norman, owned and operated Knapp's Shoes and Clothing in Listowel.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private family service will be held on Saturday with Helen's nephew, Rev. Richard Spies of Ancaster officiating, followed by interment in Elmira Union Cemetery.
