  FUNERAL OF MRS. J. SCHMITT HELD HERE SUNDAY AFTERNOON - REV. A. ORZEN, OF KITCHENER, CONDUCTS SERVICE As briefly mentioned in our last week's issue, Mary Ann Reist, widow of the late John P. Schmitt, passed away on the 21st inst. Though seriously ill only about a month, she had not been feeling well for some time previous to that. The late Mrs. Schmitt was a daughter of the late John M. and Mrs. Reist and was born on the old farm home in Balsam Grove section in 1863 where she grew up to womanhood. Of the old home family there are left six brothers and three sisters, namely, David, of Floradale; Joel, of Grand Rapids; Solomon, Noah and Ephraim, of Elmira neighborhood; John, of Williamsburg; Mrs. Henry Klinck, Woolwich; Mrs. Louis Koerber, Elmira; Mrs. Wm. Stroh, of Maryborough township. The deceased is survived by two sons and four daughters, namely, William G., of Kitchener; Oscar R., of Toronto; Mary (Mrs. August Manto), Emma (Mrs. Milton Latsch) of Elmira; Sarah (Mrs. Easton Thompson), of Aylmer; Laura, at home. The funeral was held last Sunday afternoon from her late home on Queen Street to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, thence to the Elmira Union Cemetery. Rev. A. Orzen, of Kitchener, conducted the services in the absence of the regular pastor. A large number of relatives and friends were in attendance, the church being filled to the doors. The pallbearers were Chas. Schutz, F. Seignor, Geo. Pfaff, A. Sherk, David Ziegler, H. H. Muth. ______________ In Loving Memory. Died In Elmira, on Thursday, June 21st, 1923 Mary Ann Reist Widow of the late John Paul Schmitt Aged 60 years, 4 months and 3 days The Funeral Will be held from her late residence, 6 Queen St., on Sunday, June 24th at 2.30 o'clock p.m., to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church for service, thence to the Elmira Union Cemetery for interment.
