  Bender, Lydian, daughter of Jacob B. and ___ Bender, was born in East Zorra Twp., Ont., Aug. 18, 1907; died in Stratford Hospital, Jan. 19, 1967; aged 59 y. 5 m. 1 d. On Sept. 27, 1933 she was married to Joe Bender, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons (Verlus and Elwood), 3 brothers (Abner, Lorne, and Clayton), and 3 sisters (Barbara, -Mrs. John Liehti; Louella, -Mrs. Nick Jutzi; and Durscilla). She was a member of the East Zorra Church, where funeral services were held Jan. 22, with Newton L. Gingrich and Dan Wagler officiating. Gospel Herald - Volume LX, Number 7 - February 21, 1967 pgs 161-162 ______________________________ Mrs Joseph Bender 1967 By Record Correspondent TAVISTOCK-Mrs. Joseph Bender, 59, of RR 1, Shakespeare, died in Stratford Hospital late Thursday night after a lengthy illness. She was the former Lydian Bender and was born Aug. 18, 1907, in East Zorra Township, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob B. Bender. She was a member of East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th line. She married Mr. Bender Sept. 27, 1933. Surviving, besides her husband, are two sons, Verlus and Elwood, both of RR 1, Shakespeare; three brothers, Abner of RR 1, Shakespeare and Lorne and Clayton, both of RR 1, Tavistock, and three sisters, Mrs. John (Barbara) Lichti, Mrs. Nick (Louella) Jutzi and Mrs. Druscilla Jutzi, all of Tavistock. She was predeceased by two brothers. The body will be at the Robert Krug Funeral Home, Tavistock, until noon Sunday when removal will be made to the East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th line, for serviced at 2: 30 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
