      His cabin in Bellevue was the first post office and he became the first official postmaster in 1886. He died in a logging accident and his wife Isabella (Lind) took over the job. Isaac was removed to the Garden of Rest in Sunset Hills Memorial Park. Isabella was born in Scotland and she died in June of 1938 at the home of her son Isaac L Bechtel. She is buried in Washington Memorial Park. Her name is also spelled Isabelle.
