- Adam Treusch Passed Away
Deceased Was in His 85th Year
Another of Waterloo's old and well known citizens has joined the great majority in the person of Mr. Adam Treusch who passed away at the home of his daughter. Mrs. H. Reuel. yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at a ripe old age of 84 months and 15 days. The deceased was born in Germany on April 5th. 1832 and when a young man of 17 years came to Canada and settled in Preston. For a number of years he resided there where he married Miss Mary Hensall. Of this happy union 6 sons and 6 daughters were born. Over 40 years ago he came to Waterloo and was well and favorably known.
For many years be carried on the business of Carpenter Contractor, until a few years ago when he was forced to give up owing to advancing years. His wife predeceased him 20 years ago, and one son. Henry, made the supreme sacrifice in Europe only a few months ago. To mourn his loss the following children survive. viz.:
William, Chicago: Charles, Waterloo; Minnie (Mrs. John Evans). N. Dakota; Louisa (Mrs. Warner). Chicago; Emma (Mrs. Coffee). Chicago: Clara (Mrs. Slender), Kitchener: Peter, St. Catharines: Lizzie (Mrs. H. Reuel). Waterloo: Rosie (Mrs. N. Geib), Wiarton, and John, Kitchener. Henry killed in action, and Jacob predeceased their father.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. Reuel. King Street, North, to Mt. Hope Cemetery for interment.
