  Arrest made in Greendale Crescent homicide KITCHENER - A 29-year-old Kitchener man will face a charge of first-degree murder as the police investigation into a Greendale Crescent homicide on Friday night continues. The suspect was arrested in Durham Region on Saturday with help from Durham Regional Police. He is to attend bail court on Sunday and make another court appearance on Monday. Police have not released his name. On Friday night, police responded to a report of gun shots in the Chicopee area of Kitchener. Upon arrival, 33-year-old Brandon Makins was found dead. Around 9: 30 p.m. on Friday, Leo Baker sat beside his wife and dog on their Greendale Crescent front porch as the incident played out before them. The quiet scene quickly turned deadly and surreal. "All of a sudden, a red car that lives up there beside the sidewalk - a red Charger - he comes flying down," Baker said as he stood outside a police-taped area on Saturday morning. "He always drives fast. He really flew it down there." Then, Baker said, the Charger slammed on the brakes beside another car. "Stops. Three bangs. Then took off again."
