Notes |
- LAUBER, Edna Bertha Our mom passed away peacefully at her home on April 11, 2014, in her 95th year. Born on the family farm near Breslau, the youngest daughter of Anna Catherine Schultzke and Solomon Gole. Beloved wife of the late Wilfrid Lauber (1956). Loving mother of Rebecca Gingrich; Heather and Don Patterson; Lyndon and Linda Lauber; Penelope and Keith Hubbard and Jocelyn Lauber. Always remembered by foster son Victor Cooper. Predeceased by her siblings: Erma Thomas-Stankiewicz; Adeline and Frank Gollinger; Eileen and George Robinson; George and Violet Gole; Douglas and Nancy Gole; brother-in-law Gerald and Olga Lauber; sister-in-law Reta and Lorne Schmalz and her eldest grandson Andrew Kenyon.
For many years Edna worked in the bakeshop at Wilfrid Laurier University which suited her sweet tooth perfectly. After retirement her home was filled with her beloved pets, flowers, quilting, knitting, family and church.
As she requested, cremation has taken place with a private family celebration of her life planned for a later date. Interment at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Kitchener. Special thanks to Dr. Henry Vlaar and his staff, the many Red Cross Personnel Support Workers, as well as the nurses from St. Elizabeth, who made it possible for Mom to remain in her home.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William St. Plattsville. On-line condolences can be sent at: www.gffh.ca
