  Zehr, Ruth Loraine (Bender) Passed away peacefully with family at her side on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Grand River Hospital, KW Health Centre, Kitchener at the age of 84. Ruth was born in Wilmot Township, a daughter of the late Mahlon Bender and former Selena Ruby. Beloved wife of Ron Zehr whom she married on July 28, 1956. Cherished mother and grandmother to Bob and wife Connie Zehr and their children Celene & Eric; Don and wife Wendy Cressman Zehr and their children Tess and partner Jake and Michaela; Lynn and wife Julie Zehr and their son Blake; Will and wife Shannon Zehr and their son Lliam; Kathy Zehr and her children Elisabeth, Malcolm and Sheldon; and Mike and wife Denise Maurer and their children Mike, Matthew and Marc. Ruth is survived by her sister Marj Kaethler and brother Cleo Bender and his wife Joan, sisters-in-law Katie Bender and Joyce Zehr and brother-in-law Glenn Zehr and wife Mary Ellen as well as by her many nieces, nephews and extended families. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law Vernon and wife Katie Zehr, Art and wife Dorothy Bender, Olive and husband Orville Bender, Armand Bender, Lillian and husband Sam Lichty and Daniel Zehr. Ruth was a member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg. Ruth was a long-time volunteer of the Wilmot Horticultural Society and the New Hamburg Thrift Centre and in her later years became an Author. Family and friends are invited to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 2 \endash 4 & 7 \endash 9 p.m. for a time of memorial visiting. The funeral service will take place on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg with Pastors Jan Steckley and Kevin Peters Unrau officiating. Interment in the 19 th Line East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Nithview Community, Building Fund or the Grand River Hospital Cancer Centre would be appreciated (Cheques Accepted).
