  Sarah Jane Bechtel "was born October 4th, 1852, and is married to William McBain. They reside at Oakland, California, U.S., where he is engaged as band master and teacher in music." Eby, Ezra E. A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character. Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.]. _______________________ McBain Mrs, Sarah Jane McBain, nee Bechtel, was born in Blair, Ontario, Canada, Oct. 4, 1852, and passed away in Mountain View, Calif., Dec. 25, 1934. Forty-three years ago Mrs. McBain joined the Seventh-day Adventist church in Oakland, Calif,, since which time she was a devoted Christian and worker in the church. During a number of years she was a member of a Portland, Ore., church, and for the past thirteen years has been in Mountain View. She is survived by her husband, William McBain, three sons, William, Bert T., and Wallace McBain; and two daughters, Mrs. J. R. Ferren and Mrs. May Hors-man.
