  Prominent Toronto Resident Passes - Burial Made in Ayr Saturday (Toronto Star, Oct. 15. 1938) The funeral of the Late Robert George Osborne Thomson, stock-broker and former bank official, was held today, a private service at the home, Russell Hill Rd., being followed by a service in Knox Presbyterian Church, Spadina Ave., Rev. J. G. Inkster officiating. The private service at the home, and at the cemetery were conducted by Prof. Cunningham of Knox College, who also made the address at the church service. Honorary pallbearers were A. J. Mitchell, J. F. Lash, D. B. Hanna, J. B. Tyrrell, Dr. W. H. Moore, W. H. Webling, D. S. Robertson, W. .A. Kingsland and Col. K. R. Marshall. Active pallbearers were James, Pierre, George, Raymond and John Thomson, Col. Ewart Osborne, G. K. Stratford and D. R. Stratford. The principal mourners were his widow, Mrs. Helen Letitia Stratford Thomson, and two sons, Woodburn S. and Garth C. Thomson; a brother, Dr. Murray G. Thomson, Alexandria, Ont., and three sisters, Margaret W., Helen M. and Ann Thomson, all of Welland, Ont. Interment took place later at Ayr, Ont. Mr. Thomson died Thursday in Toronto General Hospital. He was vice-president of A. J. Mitchell and Co., investment brokers, and on the board of several other commercial organisations. He was a keen yachtsman, a member of the R.C.Y.C. and owner of the yacht "Vision." He was a Presbyterian and a member of the A.F. and A.M. The Ayr News Oct 20 1938 pg 8
