  • Notes
    • Thomas Eagan - THE LATE THOMAS EAGAN. - We take the following regarding the death of this former townsman from the Sharpsville (Pa.) Advertiser of date 23rd November: "Mr. Thomas Eagan, of the firm of Eagan & Bro., carriage manufacturers, died at his residence, in this place, last Wednesday morning after an illness of about two weeks of malarial fever. Mr. Eagan was unconscious during most of his illness, but in his lucid moments was fully aware of his dangerous condition, and a day or two before his death bade his family the last farewell, being perfectly resigned to his fate, remarking that he was "going to a better world." The deceased was an industrious and esteemed citizen, and had many warm friends. He was elected a member of the Borough Council last spring, receiving the highest vote on the Democratic ticket, and was a very useful member of that body. He was a member of the Royal Templars, and held the position of Financial Secretary in Sharpsville Council, No. 27, at the time of his death. His widow will receive the sum of $2,000 life insurance from the order. "The deceased was in the 32d year of his age, and leaves a wife and four children. The remains were taken to Galt, Canada, the home of his father, on Wednesday evening for interment, accompanied by his family and three brothers who reside here.
